Project : 20kV Static VAR Generator (SVG/STATCOM) for Leading Steel Plate Mill in Indonesia
Location: Indonesia Industry: Steel Completion Date: March 2026 Scope of Work: Supply, Installation Supervision, and Commissioning
Project Overview
In December 2025, VR MASTER was officially entrusted by a prominent Indonesian steel manufacturer to enhance the power quality of their newly established Steel Plate Mill. The project focused on addressing complex electrical challenges inherent in heavy industrial operations, ensuring high-efficiency performance and grid stability.
The Challenge
Steel plate mills involve heavy-duty machinery and rapid load fluctuations, which often lead to power quality issues such as harmonic distortion, voltage dips, and low power factor. To ensure the reliability of the new production line and meet strict utility standards, a high-performance compensation system was required.
Our Solution
VR MASTER supplied and managed the end-to-end integration of a Medium Voltage 20kV Static VAR Generator (SVG/STATCOM). This advanced technology provides:
Dynamic Reactive Power Compensation: Instantaneous response to load changes.
Harmonic Mitigation: Improving the overall lifespan of electrical components.
Voltage Stability: Ensuring consistent power delivery during peak mill operations.
Result & Success
Following our rigorous installation supervision, the system underwent comprehensive commissioning and a successful test run in March 2026. The SVG system is now fully operational, significantly improving the mill's power quality and energy efficiency. This project reinforces VR MASTER’s commitment to delivering world-class power solutions across Southeast Asia.
